The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology oversees a number of national projects, such as roads and ports, that contribute to achieving sustainable development in various economic, industrial, commercial, tourism, and other fields. These efforts are accompanied by the Ministry's relentless drive to make the transport and logistics sectors in the Sultanate globally reputable, the second source of national income, and among the top ten in logistics performance internationally by 2040. Alongside these projects, the Ministry is working to regulate the land and maritime transport sectors by enacting legislation and laws and issuing regulations governing them. The Ministry also formulates and implements strategies to activate the digital government in the Sultanate of Oman. Its primary mission is to raise the level of efficiency in government performance, innovation in service delivery, and enhancing spending and economic growth through the use of information and communications technology.
